Don Bindner ('92)
is a 1992 graduate of Truman State University earning a bachelor of science in
mathematics and a minor in computer science; he teaches mathematics and
computer science courses at Truman. While a student at Truman, Don was involved
in Cantoria, a select vocal ensemble, and the Association for Computing
Machinery. Don graduated Magna Cum Laude with departmental honors.
After graduating from Truman, Don received a PhD in mathematics from the University of Georgia in 2001. While working on his PhD at Georgia, Don taught mathematics and graduate internship courses. He began teaching and mentoring undergraduate mathematics research at Truman in 1998.
Don has received many awards ranging from University of Georgia Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award, University of Georgia Mathematics Excellence in Teaching Award, to Truman State University Educator of the Year semi-finalist. He is also the co-author of two published mathematics textbooks.
Don is involved in many areas of the campus, ranging from advising organizations to teaching Joseph Baldwin Academy courses. Don is currently serves as the vice president of the Northeast Missouri Alumni Chapter. His hobbies include swing dancing, amateur radio and electronics.
