Jim Cherrington
Jim Cherrington (’85), who was born and raised in rural Glasgow, Mo., attended Truman State University from 1981-1985,
completing a B.S. degree in business administration. Originally on a
music scholarship, Jim has fond memories of being a member of
the Showboat Gamblers marching band.
Jim has worked for a CPA firm as well as a non-profit research institution. Since 2001, he has been employed by the Missouri School Boards' Association as associate executive director of administrative Programs and Resources, supervising financial programs, energy programs and safety programs.
In addition to his involvement with Truman's Mid-Missouri Alumni Chapter, Jim is active in the Columbia, Mo., community, serving as an elder with Trinity Lutheran Church and is involved with the United Way, Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Lutheran Family & Children Services Adoption Agency, the Columbia Metro Rotary Lutheran, and the Columbia Public Schools.
He and his wife, Mindy, a registered nurse, have five children.
