John Mathis graduated
from Truman State University in 1966 with bachelor's degrees in mathematics and
education. While at Truman, he was a member of Blue Key, International Club,
Student National Education Association, Alpha Phi Sigma, Kappa Delta
Pi, and Sigma Zeta. After graduation John went on to earn a master of arts
degree in mathematics from Arizona State University while teaching undergraduate
mathematics courses.
John is currently employed by
TexasChristian
University as a lecturer in
the
M.J.
NeeleySchool
of Business. He is retired from International Business Machines Corporation
where he served in various capacities, primarily in national and international
management positions in the areas of sales, marketing and training.Subsequent to his retirement from IBM, he served as
vice president of Sales/Marketing at AlphaNational Technology Services, manager
of the National Education Center of HBOC/McKesson Drug, regional sales manager
at GAINSystems, and as a managing partner of Applications Business Consulting
Incorporated.
John resides in Irving,
Texas, with his wife, Marilyn, and daughter, Megan. He is a member of Truman's
Dallas Alumni Chapter and a former chapter president.
