A. David Peppard (’80), is a general practice attorney in Memphis, Mo. He moved his practice there in 2003 after practicing law for 10 years in his hometown of St. Joseph, Mo. While there, Dave served for five years as the assistant city attorney and prosecutor. 

Dave graduated from Truman State University (then known as Northeast Missouri State University) magna cum laude in 1980 with a bachelor of science education degree in communications. He was a John J. Pershing Scholar and was involved in Student Senate, the Index, and the campus radio station as an undergraduate. After two years as a graduate assistant at NMSU, five years teaching and coaching in Lathrop and Harrisonville, Mo., and two years working in the private sector, Dave enrolled in law school. 

He graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 1992, where he was active in litigation competitions and the Student Bar Association. He is currently the president of the Scotland County Rotary Club and chairs the social committee for Truman's Northeast Missouri Alumni Chapter.  He also coaches youth basketball teams in Schuyler County, Mo., and lives in Greentop, Mo.
