Alumni Board of Directors Has At-Large Position To Fill
The
Alumni Board of Directors is comprised of alumni volunteers from various graduating classes from
Truman State University, and the board is currently seeking candidates for an
at-large position.
The purpose of the Alumni Board is to:
provide support for the mission of the University
develop and grow chapters
provide networking and social events for alumni and future students of Truman State University
and to be the liaison for projects and concerns that are either of interest to alumni or an outreach from the administration to alumni.
Each of the 10 alumni chapters are represented and there are also five at-large positions ― one of these at-large positions is currently open. Ideal candidates should exhibit the following qualities and demographics:
have a passion for his or her alma mater
reside in a geographic region that is not currently represented by the chapter areas of Arizona, Chicago, Colorado, Dallas, Iowa, Kansas City, Mid-Atlantic, Mid-Missouri, Northeast Missouri, and St. Louis
be willing to travel to two Alumni Board meetings held in Kirksville each year, and an optional summer retreat
preference will be given to candidates who graduated in the 1960s, 1970s, or 1990s to help maintain a diverse Board
Board terms are two years in length, with the expectation of serving at least two consecutive terms and the option of serving a third term. All Board members serve on various committees that generally communicate via e-mail and teleconferences. The time commitment for a board member is voluntary, but a strong candidate should consider a few hours each month plus the aforementioned meetings and adjoining travel time.
Regardless of grad year, a passion, willingness, ability to commit the time and
active involvement makes the best addition to the team plus an opportunity to
provide representation for your fellow classmates to your University.
