Homecoming 2009

Thanks to all our alumni and friends who helped make Homecoming 2009 such a great success! Hundreds of alumni returned to campus for Homecoming, Oct. 9-11, 2009.

One of the biggest highlights of the weekend was the Alumni and Friends Banquet which included recognition of Homecoming alumni honorees, the Golden Alumni Diploma Ceremony, the Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and the official kickoff of the "Bright Minds Bright Futures" campaign. During the event, the University announced that more than $18 million of the campaign's $30 million goal had been raised. The "Bright Minds Bright Futures" campaign is Truman's first-ever comprehensive campaign.

Homecoming also included the traditional 5K Run and the annual golf tournament as well as a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new Ruth W. Towne Museum and Visitors Center.

Alumni had fun reconnecting with classmates at the anniversary luncheons which honored this year's anniversary classes (Classes of 1959, 1969, 1979, 1984, 1989, and 1999) and a large number of alumni and friends attended the annual Mixer at the Kirksville Arts Center downtown Kirksville.
