9th Annual New Music Festival Concert

Features chamber and solo works with a world premiere musical selection by composer Dr. Matthew Tommasini, winner of the international 2007 Truman State-MACRO Composition Competition. Tommasini’s new composition, And the Tree Grows Again, will be premiered by Dr. Julianna Moore (flute), Dr. Michael Bump (percussion) and members of the Truman State Wind Symphony under the direction of Mr. Dan Peterson. This work was co-commissioned by the University’s chapters of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and Sigma Alpha Iota.  In addition to the premiere, a variety of new instrumental and choral music will be presented by Truman State musicians. Dr. Tommasini will also talk about his music.

Banquet followed by musical entertainment and coffee.

The Student Recreation Center is celebrating their 10th anniversary and will be offering tours and a special display.

Registration begins at 7 a.m./Race begins at 8 a.m. The Amazing 5K Race  ($)
Runners will gather at Barnett Hall
Men's and women's divisions: 18 and under, 19-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, and 55-64, 65+. All participants receive a free T-shirt. Medals will be awarded to 1st-, 2nd- and 3rd-place winners in each age division. Registered participants receive a T-shirt. Sponsored by Cardinal Key and the Alumni Association.
