Truman to Celebrate Formal Launch of
Multimillion-Dollar Fundraising Campaign
Oct.
2009―After
several years of planning, including several
generous advance gifts received in the initial phase
of the University's first-ever comprehensive
campaign, Truman State University
will formally
announce its $30 million fundraising campaign
entitled “Bright Minds Bright Futures.” The
celebratory announcement will take place during
Homecoming festivities this Friday and Saturday,
Oct. 9-10, 2009, on the Truman campus.
The campaign kickoff celebration will be held in
conjunction with the annual Alumni and Friends
Banquet on Fri., Oct. 9, starting with a reception at 5 p.m. in the Student Union
Building, followed by
dinner at 6 p.m. The program for the "Bright Minds
Bright Futures" Kickoff Celebration, which will also
include recognition of Homecoming honorees, Athletic
Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and the Golden Alumni
Diploma Ceremony, will be held in the Ophelia
Parrish Performance Hall and begins at 7:30 p.m.
The $30 million five-year campaign (2006-2011) is designed to
help Truman achieve its vision of becoming the
nation’s premier public liberal arts and sciences
institution and elevate its status among all schools
of higher education.
Following the formal announcement this weekend, the campaign will
enter its public phase for the final two years of
operation. Regional centers will be established in
11 areas across the country, and all Truman
constituents will be asked to participate as we
build a stronger Truman together. For more
