Truman Maintains Top Position Among Nation's Best Colleges

U.S. News & World Report recently released the 2010 issue of its annual "America's Best Colleges" rankings, and Truman State University has been recognized, once again, as the No. 1 Public University in the Midwest Region–Master's Category. Truman ranked No. 8 overall in the "Best Universities-Master's" category, for the Midwest Region, among both private and public institutions that provide a full range of undergraduate and master’s program.

University Begins Presidential Search

Earlier this year, Truman established a committee to begin the search for the University's top position. On April 4, the Presidential Search Committee held its first organizational meeting to prepare for the search. The committee met again on June 20 and approved the timetable for the search, the presidential advertisement, and the qualifications and attributes of the ideal candidate. This summer, the committee approved the print and online advertisements which started running Aug. 3, and the committee will begin its review of candidates at the end of October. Darrell W. Krueger has been serving as interim president since Oct. 16, 2008, and the new president is expected to assume office in the summer of 2010. The latest updates for the presidential search can be found at
