Iowa, is a division chair in language arts, communications, social studies,
and fine arts at Southeastern Community College. He has also served

Mike Branham ('72), Cumberland, Ind., is an accountant

Carole Kennedy ('72), Alexandria, Va., is serving

three children, Jana, Jim, and Christy.
Jana (Taylor) Martin ('72) and Jim Martin
('70) live in Sarasota, Fla. Jana works in sales for Remax, and Jim
is employed by Tropicana North America in marketing services. They have
one son, Asa.
Alan Rhea ('72) and Lee Ann (Broyles) Rhea
('72) live in Scottsdale, Ariz. Alan is a director of national labor
relations for Rural Metro Corp., and Lee Ann is a team manager for State
Farm Insurance. They have two children.
C. Howard Wade ('72) ('73), Aurora, Colo., is
a retired minister. He and his wife, Patsy, have three children, Danene,

Anderson ('72) live in Waukee, Iowa. Pete is CEO and president of
Farmers Commodities Corporation. Elizabeth, a former adviser to the
Index and Echo, is a sales associate at Iowa Realty. They have two children,

Paul James Named Missouri Superintendent of the Year
The
superintendent of Fort Osage School District, Paul James ('68)('71),
was named Missouri Superintendent of the Year for 2000. James
was nominated by the Fort Osage Board of Education and was selected
by an organized committee led by the Missouri Association of S
chool Administrators (MASA). Through his leadership characteristics,
strong focus on student learning, effective communication abilities,
and active participation in the school and community over the
past seven years, James has led the district in its mission, "Educating
Tomorrow's Leaders Today." Under his leadership, the
district has seen an increase in resources and programs focusing
on student performance issues, lower class sizes in the early
grades, professional development and new teacher evaluation systems,
and increased opportunities for students. The district has also
become a leader in the development and implementation of a comprehensive
electronic curriculum format.
James received a bachelor's of science degree in education
from Truman in 1968 and a masterıs degree in 1971. He also earned
an education specialist degree and a doctor of education degree
from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Mark Reagan ('76), Annapolis, Md., is a colonel
in the U.S. Army. He received his MSSI from the Defense Intelligence
College in Washington, D.C., and he is attending Army War College. He
and his wife, Michelle, have two children, Gina and Brian.
