Truman Review - Alumni News

Recruiting Texas Students

The Dallas Alumni Chapter has spent a busy fall working at more than a dozen college fairs in the Dallas area to recruit high school juniors and seniors to attend Truman. The Dallas Chapter met in November to build "care" packages for Truman students from the Dallas area. The packages were shipped prior to December finals.

Chapters Host Freshman Send-Offs

Alumni chapters and clubs around the country held Freshman Send-Off events to welcome Truman freshmen from the chapter and club areas. Enrolled freshmen and their parents were invited to the events which included refreshments or a meal and door prizes. In addition some scholarships were also awarded. The Freshman Send-offs give parents and students an opportunity to ask questions and get acquainted with fellow students, alumni and parents from their hometown area. Send-off events were held in Des Moines, Iowa; Kirksville, Mo.; Columbia, Mo.; St. Louis, Mo.; Kansas City, Mo.; Denver Colo.; and Chicago, Ill.
